A quick note on inspiration

In recent weeks I’ve realized that inspiration is a bizar animal. It will often approach under constrained conditions. Imagine having all the tools in the world at your disposal. You will focus, but most likely on the tools and not on the content you wanted to produce.

Imagine now a situation in which you are limited to only a few tools. Say for example pen and paper. If you are writing, you will be able to focus a lot easier. You will be able to concentrate on what is really essential. You will more easily be inspired. Still, it takes hard work, but at least you are not thinking about other aspects of your trade, such as updating your software.

Recently, I’ve reverted for the drafts of my blog posts back to mechanical pencil and paper. What a difference.
